The "SD Kronos" flytrap is a top-notch specimen among giant flytraps. Selected by Steve Doonan from thousands of seed-grown flytraps in 2011, he deemed it the best among the best by saying it was "the best flytrap of thousands grown from the Flytrap Ranch's own seed stock over the years." Its low-growing nature allows it to fill out a pot within a season, and its traps are comparable to the B52 and DC XL. The coloration and long, graceful lashes make it a stunning addition to any collection. This flytrap exhibits characteristics of many other cultivars, such as the size of a B52, the lashes of Phalanx, the coloration of FTS Purple Ambush, the vigor of RG38N, and the hardiness of Grün. Steve Doonan was so impressed by this cultivar that he exclusively grows it, discontinuing the growth of others.
