The Schuppenstiel, sourced from Danish grower Dr. Eberhardt Koenig in 2009, is a carnivorous plant with petioles bearing scale-like ridges and wrinkles. This cultivar produces traps that are slightly curved along the spine, with deep red to purple mouths and white tips when exposed to strong light. A red line can often develop on the outside lip of the trap. Its German name translates to "scaled stalk" in English. The Schuppenstiel is an officially registered cultivar with the International Carnivorous Plant Society (ICPS).
