The "Red King" Venus flytrap cultivar is a mysterious plant with a prostrate growth habit, and little is known about its ancestry. During the summer, it develops intense red coloration, particularly when exposed to direct sunlight. The long, graceful lashes (cilia) of the plant can begin as green but typically turn red as the traps mature. Additionally, the traps of this cultivar are notably large and striking. This beautiful and enigmatic flytrap is a unique addition to any collection of carnivorous plants.
