Korean Melody Shark
Venus Flytrap, Dionaea muscipula
$12.00
The "Korean Melody Shark" Venus flytrap cultivar is truly one-of-a-kind and just about as unique as it gets. It was accidentally developed in Korea during a conservation project involving the crossbreeding of two strains of "shark tooth" flytraps. Dr. Gi-won Jang noticed one seedling that stood out from the rest and decided to isolate it for further propagation and distribution. The Korean Melody Shark has small, delicate traps with a peachy-tangerine color and long, elegant thin petioles. The lack of flanges on the stems gives it a vine-like appearance. The traps are uniquely shaped and often compared to a written musical note, hence the name "melody," while the cilia have an interesting sawtooth-style pattern, hence "shark." If you appreciate unique and delicate plants, then this flytrap is for you. It is an officially registered cultivar by the ICPS.
